The Shareview Portfolio service allows you to access a range of information about your shareholdings, on registers that we maintain, via the internet. This includes holding details (such as name and address), indicative share prices, recent balance changes and dividend information. It also includes details of employee schemes and corporate sponsored nominees that we administer.

We use software to encrypt any personal data transferred between your browser, Shareview and our trusted digital identity provider. Personal data is securely stored for 6 years and is deleted after this period.

You can only gain access to your own information using your Username/ID, date of birth and your password.

Additionally through the registration process you will be required to enter some memorable information. In the event of a forgotten or lost username and/or password you will be required to enter this memorable information before you can regain access to your Portfolio.

Currently there is no charge for using the service. You can create a Shareview Portfolio if you have a shareholding in one of the participating registers.

The Portfolio service is all about giving you access to information about your holdings. Once logged into your Shareview Portfolio you can select the 'Buy/Sell' option in the Quick Links menu and you will be redirected to Shareview Dealing where you will be able to buy and sell shares. Please note that you are only able to add to an existing holding if you are buying shares in a Corporate Sponsored Nominee account.

Users not registered with the Portfolio service can still use the Shareview Dealing service.

If you sell shares on a register that we maintain, the balance will usually be updated in your Shareview holding within a day of the share register being changed. If shares are bought or sold through the market, the share register changes on the 'settlement' date. This is usually 5 or 10 days after the bargain date and is shown on the contract note from the stockbroker or share dealing service making the trade.

You can register for Shareview Portfolio quickly and easily online. You will be asked for the following information in this simple 4 step process:

1. Tell us who you are

Firstly we need you to enter some details so that we can identify your shareholding.

  • Select the first company which you hold the shares in from the dropdown field.
  • Enter your first and last names.
  • Select whether you are resident in the UK or not. If you are a UK resident, enter your postcode.
  • Select the 'Set up your account' button to move on to Step 2.

2. Set up your account

Here you need to provide us with more details about yourself and set up your security information.

Your security

These details will be required when logging into your account:

  • Choose a username. This could be your email address or word that is easily memorable for you
  • Choose a password that has a rating of strong on the strength meter. We recommend combining uppercase and lowercase letters and numbers and special characters, avoiding dictionary words or names, and ensuring your password is significantly different to previously used passwords.
  • Select 3 memorable questions and provide the corresponding answers. These will be used to retrieve your account if you forget your username and password.

3. Provide us with your communication preferences

Company service communications

Your company service notifications are set to digital by default. If you wish to amend your preferences, you can do so through the My Details page once you have logged in.

EQ Product communications

You can choose to receive information on EQ and EFSL products and services that may be of interest to you. If you would like to hear about these promotions and offers digitally, please select the Yes option.

If at any time you want to opt out of receiving EQ communications, you can do so through the My Details page once you have logged in.

At this stage you also have the opportunity to read the Terms and Conditions as well as the opportunity to check all of the details you have entered in this stage are correct. When you select the 'Sign up now' button you accept these and will proceed to step 4 where your details will then be verified by our trusted digital identity provider.

If there are any further details that require validation you will be asked to call our helpline on +44 (0) 371 384 2030. This is available between the hours of 8.30am and 5.30pm (UK time) Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays in England and Wales). Please have your 11 digit Shareholder Reference Number to hand.

If there are any further details that require validation, you will be directed to a phone number to call. From this point on you will be able to use your username, password and date of birth to login to your portfolio.

If your identity is successfully validated, you will be able to log in to your portfolio account and have full access to the services.

If your identity remains unvalidated you can still log in to your portfolio account but you will only be able to view a limited set of information about your holdings.
